Meego 1.0 for NetBooks

Wednesday 26 May 2010

Well, after what seemed like a protracted period of time, MeeGo 1.0 for netbooks has finally been delivered.

Visually, it’s a more polished experience than the Moblin UX and the reworked icons are far more vibrant. I’ve only had a short play with it, but so far, it’s a worth upgrade to Moblin 2.1

I’ve a weekend away coming up this week and i’ll be able have a good bit of time with it on the train. I’ve a few rpms to build for it first though, as like Moblin, it ships with limited Codecs and no Broadcom WiFi support.

Speaking of Broadcom wifi support, I’ve just added a new page with details on how to build a binary driver, you’ll find it here
