Overview

  Moblin’s media player, Bogner-Regis, is based on clutter-gst and therefore uses gstreamer codecs. For various licensing issues, Intel won’t ship Moblin with certain gstreamer plugins due to licensing concerns.

I’ve taken the appropriate gstreamer plugins from the gstreamer website (http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org) and packaged them into easy to install rpms.

I’ve created a repo that’ll make this easier

Download slaine.org-release-2.1-1.noarch.rpm. If doing so on Moblin, then the PackageKit GUI will be triggered where you will be prompted for a password to install it. This will enable the repository on your system. From there you can use the PackageKit GUI in the Applications/Settings section or just via yum on the command line to install the available codecs.

sudo yum install gst-plugins-bad gst-plugins-ugly gst-ffmpeg
